Master Composter Classes

Event Starts: February 09, 2017

From the basics of backyard composting to the science behind it, the Master Composter Class empowers participants to teach others about composting. The Master Composter class is part of a statewide program — currently managed by the State of Texas Alliance for Recycling (STAR) — to decrease dependence on synthetic fertilizers in favor of organic recycling.

The City of Fort Worth offers the three-day class twice a year. Volunteer hours involving teaching others the principals of backyard composting are required to receive the title of "Master Composter." Class graduates can complete the hours on their own or through city organized opportunities.
